How To Get Extra Retirement Income For The Easy Life

By John Farcikan

Would you like to have some extra retirement income?

When you first retired, you felt as if you were set. You had worked hard and had a percentage of your paycheck invested in a 401K every pay period. At first things seemed to be running smoothly, but then the recession hit. Your portfolio dropped to half its original value in what seemed like only a few days. That former nest egg has turned into a bunch of feathers. To continue to live like you have in the past, you are going to have to find a way to get some extra retirement income.

Where can you find extra retirement income?

The option of returning to the old employer is out of the question. They do not have enough work for the employees that they have now and are still laying people off. Besides a full time job when you are supposed to be retired is not what you had planned. You cannot travel and work full time. Here is a way to have your cake and eat it too. You can still enjoy your retirement and find a way to work from home.

Become a free lance writer. There are places online where you can find opportunities to use your home computer to write articles for search engine optimization. If you are good at typing and can use the computer you may be able to make as much as two hundred dollars per week at typing articles that you sell over the internet. Imagine what an additional eight hundred dollars per month could do for your current income. While the money by its self may not be enough to live on, it certainly can make a difference in the quality of life you have when added to your retirement income.

If you are going to try free lance writing, be cautious. There are some people that will take your writing samples and never pay you for them. There are others that will give you writing orders and never pay. Be sure that the company you work for pays you on a regular basis. If they do not pay stop working for them and find someone else. - 29954
