The samsung LN52B750 52 Inch HDTV - Picture Perfect For Any Living Room

By Phil Edgar

With the introduction of the Samsung LN52B750 52 inch HDTV, Samsung have broken all limits of HDTV technology. My first response after viewing my new Samsung LN52B750 was "WOW!" I have to admit that I had to alter my living room to fit this amazing and stylish HDTV in (not that I'm complaining!) This model is one of Samsung's biggest and greatest models that has an array of futuristic features and designs.

Wide Screen Magic

You buy a 52 inch TV for the picture, and the Samsung LN52B750 doesn't disappoint, with a bright high contrast screen that covers a significant range and gives an excellent theater like presentation. It's something you can put on a table top or hang in your living room like a large portrait. The assorted picture modes (Dynamic, Natural, Standard and Movie) allow you to tailor the screen response, color gamut and brightness and contrast ratios that best support your viewing area. Another feature of note is how Samsung is interpolating the screen refresh rate to 240Hz, getting a nice warm almost "you are there" response.

Clearer and Sharper Images

Like nearly every fully HD capable TV made in the last four years, this one does screen resolutions of 1080 lines per inch on progressive scan - this is called 1080p resolution, and is the highest broadcast standard of screen resolution available. The result is a fantastically clear display.

TruSurround System

The Samsung LN52B750 model comes with full surround sound capabilities, making the movie watching experience explosive and reverbatory. You can get by with the speakers that come with the system, but it has all the hookups needed to make a dedicated speaker system drive its way home, with 7.2 Dolby capabilities.

Preloaded Content Library

We were a bit dubious about a TV with onboard storage coming with an onboard content library; usually this means whatever video or such that they could get cheap. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the video games that came with, and there's a nice workout video. However, being able to access a good video of how to set up the system was nearly priceless to us. Still, once we got it hooked up, they couldn't compete with the Wii.

Medi 2.0 Features - An HDTV And A Personal Computer

The digital convergence has been promised in home entertainment for over a decade now, going back to the WebTV. Fast forward, and it's still being promised, though the delivery is getting better. The Samsung LN52B750 has the ability to work within your internet connection and let you browse multimedia on the large screen, from YouTube to Flickr Accounts. While I personally don't see any real benefit to showing YouTube video on a screen this large, it does hold promise for things like NetFlix On Demand. The system is also pretty good for listening to music - Pandora comes pre-loaded.

Futuristic Touch of Color Design

Having seen too many HDTVs that look like they were designed for some hyper futuristic sterile lab, it's nice to see that Samsung thought about making something that works with most American living rooms. It's got nice clean lines, and a narrow bezel, with a mixture of black and charcoal gray to make sure it works with most living room dcor.

This Samsung design has a lot to recommend it for anyone in the market for an HDTV. You should check out the features in person at your local electronics retailer, but also comparison shop on line, where you may get a significant discount. - 29954
