Home Security Products

By Pierre Levingston

An alarm salesman stopped by my home the other day. He introduced himself and asked if I had looked into home security before. I had, in fact, been thinking about investing in some home security for my home in the form of an alarm of some sort since I had started traveling more. The increased time away from my home equaled a greater personal need to start looking at home protection.

As we talked, I began to realize that there was a lot more to a home security system than I originally thought. The overly simplified notion that an alarm would just sound during a home burglary was quickly put to rest when he started showing me all the alarm equipment they could install in my home.

What I learned about alarms that day is that they've become so customizable. Medical problems? They have a medical pendant you can wear and activate for help. Concerned about a fire? Now smoke detectors come in the monitored variety. These will actually call the fire department if there's ever a house fire while you're away. The salesman even offered me a keyfob-like a garage door opener for your alarm that turns it on an off remotely.

What homeowners are offered now is an integrated, wireless home security system that, like most devices today, can fit their needs completely. Because the wires that used to come strewn through walls with alarms are a thing of the past, these security systems are extremely easy to install as well.

Home security doesn't mean booby trapping your house, and it doesn't mean putting up a guarded wall around your property. Home security, no matter what type of alarm equipment you use, is simply giving you the most convenient peace of mind for those vulnerable areas to give you the home protection and home security you need through a fancy high-tech home alarm. - 29954
